Lawrence Sagel, Director of Tennis

Lawrence Sagel has served as Tennis Director since 1989, and works diligently with his staff to keep members active and challenged with dynamic instruction and a variety of special tennis events. His goal at Delaire is to involve people of all ages, whether five or eighty-five, in the sport of tennis. According to Lawrence, “tennis is a game for a lifetime” and his skill as an instructor is demonstrated by his ability to differentiate each clients’ individual tennis goals, whether competitive or social.

With both USPTA and USPTR professional credentials, Lawrence is a member of the Wilson Tennis advisory staff. In addition to his commitment to Delaire and its members, Lawrence is involved in numerous charities as a committee member, participant and tournament director. Lawrence’s contributions include, but are not limited to Juvenile Diabetes efforts, the I Have a Dream Foundation, The Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, The Kids and Police Tennis Association, and the Make a Wish Foundation. Lawrence was ranked Top 32 nationally as he played Number 1 singles and doubles at Frostburg State University (MD).


Brian Rubin, Assistant Tennis Professional

Brian Rubin has been the assistant tennis professional at Delaire Country Club since 2007. Brian is a USPTA certified professional, a graduate of Florida Atlantic University and a Delray Beach native son. His enthusiasm for the game of tennis is contagious, and extends beyond just teaching at Delray Beach, for in addition to his teaching at Delaire, Brian is active with the Delray Beach Patrons, a program that teaches tennis to children unable to afford lessons.


Seasonal Tennis Professionals

During the season (November through April), there are as many as 6 part-time professionals on hand to assist with clinics, tournaments and special events.
