Hole Description
#1 Lakes is a straightforward
opening hole to this challenging nine. A pretty drive over the pond, leads to
an opening landing area, protected on the left side by well-placed bunkers. The
greater danger for the second shot is on the left, where the green is protected
by a small bunker and trees on the downward slope beyond the bunker. The green
slopes to the front and is fast. Putting
requires a delicate touch.

Hole Description
#2 Lakes is the 2nd most
difficult hole on this 9 and is a challenging dog leg. You have the option of
hitting over water or bailing out to the right, where a well positioned bunker
offers its own challenge. With water on the left (including a waterfall) and
trees on the right, the second shot is one of the most beautiful on the course.
A well positioned 2nd shot, is rewarded with a relatively easy approach shot to
a flat green.

Hole Description
#3 Lakes is a straight
forward par 4. A good drive is rewarded with a simple second shot to the green.
There is a drivable bunker on the left and a hill that slopes down and behind
some trees on the right. it is better to be short and straight than long and
off line.

Hole Description
#4 Lakes is a long par 3,
with a well positioned bunker in front and trees on the left. As with #3 Lakes,
it is better to be safe than sorry, so many players bail to the right. However,
a slippery green does not insure par, even for, what appears to be, a
relatively straight forward pitch shot.

Hole Description
#5 Lakes is where the real
fun begins. The drive must be well positioned. There are trees on the right,
that block any second shot to the green and a downward sloping hill to the
water on the left. The second shot also requires precision, since it is over
water, to a narrow green, that slopes to the left toward the water. There is
also a steep hill beyond the green. However, for the faint of heart, there is a
bail out area to the right of the green, that allows a pitch to the green and a
chance to salvage your score.

Hole Description
#6 Lakes has water on the left
and the fairway is edged out of bounds for the entire hole on the right, making
this par 5, the number 1 difficult hole on the Lakes course. Consequently, both
the first and second shots must be well positioned. The third shot can be
either over the bunker on the left or short of the two tiered green on the
right. Even a bail out to the right can create problems, since the hill slopes
away from the green. From there, it is necessary to pitch over the trap to a sloping
green to save par.

Hole Description
#7 Lakes, depending on the
pin position, can either be one of the easiest or most challenging holes on the
course. If the hole is in the front, the major danger is a large tree on the
right; however, if the pin is positioned on the upper level, then it is
necessary to fly over the water and steep bunker to hold the undulating green.
A shot too far to the left will run into the water. A long shot will run away
from the green, requiring a delicate chip to save par.

Hole Description
#8 Lakes is a seemingly
innocent hole requiring thought and finesse. Off the tee you have to navigate
between the water on the left and right of the hole, while avoiding a tough fairway
bunker. From the right, the second shot is challenged by the water on the
right. From the left, the water should not come into play, unless the ball
lands on the green short and right, in which case the gentle slope of the green
can take it to the water. Many players choose to play their second shot short left
of the green and then pitch or putt it to the sloping green in an attempt to
save par.

Hole Description
#9 Lakes is a great par 4
finishing hole. From a slightly elevated tee, you have a beautiful view of the
fairway. A poorly positioned tee shot on either the right or the left will
create problems for the second shot. Even a well-positioned drive, requires a
long second shot to the green with a framed view of the clubhouse. The green is
protected by water on the left and a bunker on the right. If the flag is on the
upper tier, behind the water, it is almost impossible to hit for the pin. A
shot that is even a few yards off line can run down the hill toward the water.
